Today we talked with Justina Olisah, DSP in Community Living.
How long have you worked for ACT?
I’ve been with ACT for approximately six years this month.
What’s your favorite memory while working at ACT?
My favorite memory would have to be one night when I was doing an overnight shift in an individual’s apartment, and I kept seeing glowing eyes throughout the entire shift. At the time I assumed that I was delirious due to drowsiness, but when daylight arrived, I realized that the individual had let in a stray black cat. I’m allergic to cats.
What brought you to this line of work?
I was taking a gap year from college and I needed a job.
Why do you like working with ACT?
I love working with the individuals and seeing the milestones and accomplishments each one of them achieves. Progress can happen at such a basic human level, and I’m able to witness that through every smile, every laugh, and every job opportunity. It feels good knowing that you’re making a difference in someone else’s life whether it be big or small.
If you had a superhero name what would it be?
Silent Storm
If you could have any superpower, what would it be, and why?
I would love to have the power of omnipotence because no other power can come above it. I would have the ability to do anything with no limitation and have control of the world in every sense and aspect.
