601386_559608747396092_1053821235_nPartnering agencies put on a great event on World Autism Awareness Day, April 2nd at Faurot Field here in Columbia, MO.  If you missed this, its not too late to get involved in Autism Awareness Month.
Autism awareness events occurring across Missouri include:
April 6th – The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) will hold an awareness event beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the rear parking lot of its central office facility located at 920 Wildwood in Jefferson City, Missouri.  Guests from local provider agencies plan to attend and speak.
April 8th – The Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) and the Office of Administration (OA) Wellness Committee will sponsor a Capitol Complex area Go Blue Day Wellness Walk.  A 1.1 mile walk around the Capitol and through downtown Jefferson City is scheduled from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  Participants are encouraged to wear blue.
April 13th – Autism Family Legislative Day, sponsored by the Missouri Parent Advisory Committee on Autism, begins at 10:00 a.m. at the State Capitol Building in Jefferson City.  Families and providers from across the state plan to share information with state legislators to help raise awareness about autism.
You can also participate by shining bright blue lights at your house, store front, etc. to help raise awareness on autism.
